"Poop" Hole
Myra with Quinceneras
We are so excited about the new houses being built and the doors being opened for those families. The group gave out clothing, painted, washed the feet of the ladies, helped serve meals, moved tons of rock to help clear the land, installed two stoves, an outdoor shelter for a stove and a latrine and just got down and dirty.
Ernestina and her husband Mundo have been patiently waiting for their new home. Mundo has been helping out. They are digging almost to 45 feet a “poop” hole. This will provide toilet services to the “casitas” – little houses.
Thanks to Linda Sothern, Joy Saltsman, Betty Jarvis, Arlene Gould, Robert and Sharon Miller, and Ronnie and Ellen Potts for their donations for the “poop” hole.
OUR PROJECTS FOR THE MINISTRY
We need $10,000 to buy this piece of land for the comedor, church, multi-purpose library, Bible, computer, and English classes, medical and dental clinics. Pastor Leonel says he has a dream to have a seminary there also to teach and train pastors! So we believe God that this will come to pass. We now have $1000.00 donated this month. Praise God!
1. The newest projects are water purifiers that are 99.9% guaranteed to purify the water and costs $45 and solar lamps that costs $25.
2. School shoes for 2011 must be ordered by late October before Myra leaves for the states with a down payment of 50%. The estimated is $1700 with $850 down payment paid in October with the rest due in late December or early January 2011.
3. $150 is needed for the 2011 school year to buy small notebooks.
Make checks payable to WMOTW and put project name, examples: The Land, purifier, school shoes or notebooks on the memo line.
QUINCENERAS-15TH BIRTHDAY
This year we had 7 girls celebrating their 15th birthdays. We are so thankful we could bless them all with new dresses, shoes, jewelry and their own 15th birthday ring. Thanks to the Slack family from Park Valley Church in Va.for their sponsorship of this event again this year.
MYRA'S CORNER
The month of July is over.
Daniel is a constant source of joy mixed with some times tears. Oh, to be a mother of a pre-teen! He and I have been enjoying the World Cup from South Africa. Did I know I liked soccer?
We celebrated two special birthdays near and far. Christopher, Aimee’s son and my grandson turned 3 years old and Jordan my great grandson turned a year old in the states. We had a great lunch, piñata, gifts and games for Christopher in Guatemala and Jordan had a pool party in the states. Wish I could have been there too.
Thanks for the prayers for my mom. She is doing better. She will be 87 in August.
The storms so far have been tremendous this year and this month has brought me some personal footfalls. My two year old refrigerator died but was repaired. I had to get a new window, my roof is leaking, the walls are peeling, the sink is leaking, at times the rain water comes right up to my door but thank God does not enter! We are blessed. We have somewhere to lay our heads and when we come home the house is still there. It’s a blessing to be kept by God while all around you so many are suffering and even dying in the storms.
Thank you for your prayers, donations and love. God bless you all.
Love, Myra
