The month of August brought much rain and devastation to Guatemala with bridges destroyed when the rivers crested. Communities were isolated, homes were destroyed and lives lost because of the mudslides. In our immediate area homes were flooded and destroyed and lives were lost. We are praying for relief but the prognosis is not good for the next few months. Please pray for the families that have lost everything especially for those who lost family members. The ministry continues….
Myra and pastor Leonel celebrated with students with excellent grades. We also included the older children who are part of the youth Discipleship class. We had pizza and a movie. It was a fun day.
We now have 102 students studying. The students attending elementary and higher grades finished the third quarter and all passed.
In the higher grades, we have one in 11th grade, one in 10th, three in 9th grade and about to graduate, three in 8th grade and two in 7th grade.
We have two graduating from the sixth grade.
School ends in mid October. Please pray that they will all pass their final exams

The second family that will be living in the little houses is Marielena and her 4 daughters 5-13. Marielena’s husband was killed two years ago. She has suffered with severe depression and has attempted suicide. She has not been able to adequately provide for her family. She has been attending Bible study and recently accepted Christ. She needs prayer to find a better job for her family. All of her girls are studying.

Our Projects for the Ministry
We needed $10,000 to buy this piece of land for the comedor, church, multi-purpose library, Bible, computer, and English classes, medical and dental clinics. Pastor Leonel says he has a dream to have a seminary there also to teach and train pastors! So we believe God that this will come to pass.
The Land
1) New Land - We are $6000.00 away from purchasing new land for the comedor, church, clinic, library, medical and dental clinic and Bible school.
2) Water Purifers - $45 per family – guaranteed to purify 99.9% of the water
3) Solar lamps - $25
4) Shoe Shoes – $1700 total cost for 2011 leather school shoes
5) School Supplies – we need $150 for the school year (January-November) to purchase notebooks
6) Sponsor a child in High School - $30/month from January 2011 through October 2011 -- The sponsorship program covers their school uniform, leather shoes, tennis shoes, gym uniform, all of their school supplies, projects and transportation with a monthly donation of $30 a month starting in November 2010 through October 2011.
